Named after a small district nestled in the heights of a Galician fishing village, Miraflores is the debut album from the elusive French-Argentinian artist Luna Maria Cedrón, alias Fiesta en el Vacío. Carefully upholding the mystery around her music and persona, she has laid the foundation to a body of work truly her own over the past few years. Shelling out baroque landscapes imbued in French and Spanish-spoken poetry, as well as raising darker panoramas from organ-like synths and impaired drum machines, her music is deeply rooted in a rich and diverse background, scanning out the fringes of flamenco, French punk and electronic experimentation. Consisting of improvised pieces recorded between 2018 and 2019, erratically patched-up and glued together to shape this album, Miraflores feels like taking a lonely stroll across some forgotten place’s old, sun-drenched streets and forsaken gardens — forever stuck in limbo.
